Delhaize To Target Balkans, May Invest In Pan-Region Retailer

Belgian mass grocery retailer (MGR) Delhaize is believed to be interested in expanding what we believe to be a relatively underdeveloped emerging markets unit by entering the Balkan region. Although it is not expanding on reports in the Belgian press (De Tijd) linking it to Serbian retailer Delta Holding, Delhaize has said it will consider equity investments in the region.
