Carrefour Off The Pace In Brazil, BMI Sees Market As Key To Firm's Future Growth

For the three months to the end of June Brazil's largest grocery retailer Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição (CBD) reported a sharp increase in same-store net sales, which increased by 11.3%. In contrast, over the same period the country's second largest retailer Carrefour registered only a 2.9% increase in same-store net sales - a result which suggests a fall in like-for-like sales in real terms.
