SABMiller Posts Volume Decline In Colombia

SABMiller's weak first quarter results, for the three months to June 30 2010, included volume growth of only 1% in the normally dynamic Latin America region. In Colombia, the firm's most important Latin American market, SABMiller reported a volume decline of 6%. This was attributed to price increases and 'dry days' around the country's presidential elections. In other Latin American markets the firm's results were more impressive, with volume growth of 12% in Peru and 9% in Ecuador.
