Carrefour Unveils New Hypermarket Strategy, Needs To Justify Premium Valuation

The chief executive of French retail giant Carrefour has revealed the firm is set to open two pilot hypermarkets in the French city of Lyon that are designed to reenergise the format. The stores have been revamped to focus on sectors in which the firm enjoys a competitive advantage with Chief Executive Lars Olofsson saying that the 'concept of having everything under one roof in a bazaar-like spirit is a thing of the past'.
