Barry Callebaut Signs Major Deal, BMI Expects Cocoa Prices To Keep Moving In The Firm's Favour

The world's largest business-to-business chocolate manufacturer, Barry Callebaut, has signed a new long-term contract with the world's second largest food company Kraft. The deal will mean Barry Callebaut fulfils 'the majority' of Kraft's industrial chocolate needs and the Zurich-based company reports that the deal is 'among the largest strategic deals' it has ever signed. The move fits with BMI's view that increased volatility in commodity markets will push producers to outsource production and our belief that Barry Callebaut is well placed to benefit from this
