Campbell Soup Needs To Grow Internationally Or It Could Become An Acquisition Target
September 2010 | Company News AlertDouglas Conant, the chief executive of US-food producer Campbell Soup, has announced that he is to step down in the summer of 2011 and be replaced by Denise Morrison, currently president of the firm's North American soup, sauces and beverages business. Conant took charge of the company in 2001 and says he has successfully renewed a company that was performing poorly. To some extent the figures bear out this claim, with operating margins up and the company's share price outperforming the S&P 500 over this period. However, the company's revenue growth has lagged its rivals - partly due to underexposure
