Scotch Outperforms Spirits Sector, Expected To Be Targeted For Investment
September 2010 | Company News AlertDrinks giant Diageo is preparing to open a new Scotch distillery at Roseisle in north east Scotland. The new facility required an investment of GBP40mn and is the first major distillery to be opened for 30 years. The move is a response to growing global demand for Scotch and in particular the firm's Johnnie Walker brand, which has built up leading positions in many of the world's most important emerging markets (EMs).
