Jerónimo Martins Continues To See Huge Scope For Growth, BMI Agrees
October 2010 | Company News AlertPortugal-based Jerónimo Martins, which owns Poland's leading discount retailer Biedronka, continues to see huge scope for growth and expects Biedronka's share of annual group sales to grow to about 60% by year-end 2010 (currently at about 55%). Underlined by BMI's forecast that headline discount store sales will grow at annual rate of 18.4% to 2015, Jerónimo plans to double Biedronka's store count to about 3,000 over the next four to five years via both organic and acquisitional growth.
