Matahari's Sale Not An Indication Of Domestic Demand Uncertainties
November 2010 | Company News AlertWhile Matahari has signalled its commitment to the domestic retail sector, recent reports have shown that Matahari is looking to divest its 82-strong-outlet supermarket and hypermarket network. On analysing Matahari's intention to offload its supermarket and hypermarket operations, BMI believes the sale is not indicative of domestic market weakness, particularly in view of the strong acquisition interest from South Korean retailer Lotte Shopping and US private equity firm Carlyle Group.
