Nestlé Seen As New Favourite To Land Yoplait

French newspaper Le Figaro has reported that Swiss food giant Nestlé is considering making a bid for French yoghurt maker Yoplait, which is co-owned by French milk cooperative Sodiaal and private equity group PAI Partners. The report suggests that the firm favours mounting a joint bid with French dairy producer Lactalis, which has already been linked with the unit, but that it could also attempt a solo takeover should a joint bid not materialise.
