Sale Of Bottled Water Would Give Danone Investment Funds For Faster Growing Units

A report in the Wall Street Journal has suggested that French food and drink firm Danone is in early talks to sell all or part of its bottled water unit to Japanese beverage firm Kirin Holdings. Fellow Japanese firms Suntory Holdings and Asahi Breweries have also been linked with a possible bid and the report suggests the unit could fetch between US$5bn and US$7bn if sold in its entirety.
