Carrefour's Malay And Singaporean Sales Come To A Halt

French retailer Carrefour withdrew its 23 Malaysian stores and two Singaporean stores from sale on November 19 after a strategic review, according to Bloomberg. As part of its strategy of exiting markets where it does not believe it can secure the top three spots, the retailer has been looking to divest its South East Asian store networks in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
