Cencosud Needs To Find Fix To Peruvian Problem

Chilean retail group Cencosud has announced a sharp increase in revenues and profits for the third quarter of the year. In the three months to the end of September, the firm's sales increased by 13% to CLP1.5trn, while net profits surged by 18.9% to CLP45.3bn (US$94mn). On a regional basis the results continued on their recent trend (see chart), with sales accelerating in Argentina (aided by very high inflation) and growing strongly in Chile and Brazil.
