PepsiCo Set To Snap Up Wimm-Bill-Dann For US$5.4bn

America's biggest soft drinks companies cannot get enough Russian exposure. PepsiCo and The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) have between them picked up some of the most promising consumer assets over the past five years. Just a few months after TCCC closed on Nidan (the fourth biggest Russian juice company), PepsiCo has outdone its rival by snapping up a controlling 66% interest in the predominantly dairy-focused Wimm-Bill-Dann (WBD) for US$3.8bn. Subject to regulatory approval, it will make a public offer to the remaining shareholders.
