Nigerians Guzzling More Beer As Incomes Rise

Some of the world's largest beer companies are betting big on the fact that per capita beer consumption will grow considerably over the next few years. The Nigerian subsidiaries of Diageo and Heineken are Africa's two largest beer companies by annual sales excluding South Africa, with combined revenues of close to US$1.8bn. To provide some context, Heineken-owned Nigerian Breweries Limited is more than twice as big as East African Breweries Limited ? the third largest non-RSA beer company by annual sales.
