SABMiller Linked With Guinness Buy, Diageo May Get Out Of Beer

SABMiller is likely to make a major acquisition in 2011, with Guinness being the latest major beer company to be linked with it. Although there has been no official comment yet, BMI believes acquiring Guinness from its largely spirits-focused parent Diageo would make a lot more sense than taking control of either the Foster's beer business or the Les Brasseries & Glaceries Internationales (BGI) African beer business of the privately owned France-based Castel Group at this stage.
