Embotelladoras Arca And Grupo Continental Merger Will Help Support Regional Expansion

Two of Mexico's major Coca-Cola bottlers, Embotelladoras Arca and Grupo Continental, have announced they are to merge in an all-share transaction. The deal will see Embotelladoras Arca, Mexico's second largest Coca-Cola bottler, issue 468.8mn new shares to exchange with Grupo Continental shareholders at a rate of 0.625 Arca shares for every Continental share. The combined firm is to be called Arca Continetnal will be cemented as one of the largest soft drink firms in Latin America, with volumes of 1.2bn unit cases and revenues of about US$2.8bn. The move can be seen as part of a wider process of consolidation
