Waitrose To Launch First Store

High-end UK food retailer Waitrose has opened its first store in Bahrain as it continues to slowly build up business in the Middle East. Waitrose also has two stores in Dubai where its emphasis on quality has brought a strong premium option to the market. High incomes and an influx of expatriates into Bahrain and the UAE over the past decade have created a market for the sort of retail experience that Waitrose provides. We estimate that about half of all food retail sales in Bahrain are currently accounted for by organised retail.
