Lindt Benefits From Return Of Global Demand For Premium Products

Premium chocolate producer Lindt has posted strong revenue and profit growth for 2010. For the 12 months to the end of December, the firm register a 25.3% increase in net profits, which came in at CHF241.9mn. Sales were up by 7.3% on an organic basis, although negative currency headwinds meant that reported sales came in just 2.2% higher to reach CHF2.6bn. The firm's strong showing in 2010 followed a difficult 2009 and chimes with a strong bounce in demand for luxury food and beverage products across developed and emerging markets.
