According to reports in the local press, German discounter Lidl is considering entering Bulgaria, and has launched a feasibility study for future investment into the country. Compatriot hypermarket chain Kaufland, which is also owned by parent company Schwarz Group, recently entered the market. Lidl currently operates in Estonia and Latvia, and has expressed an interest in entering Lithuania.
