As earlier reported by BMI, German food discounter Rewe's newly appointed CEO Alain Caparros has committed the retailer to focus on re-invigorating its German business in favour of international expansion. Soon after his appointment, Caparros committed the company to investing several hundred million euros in development in Germany. Good to his word, the new CEO has moved with great speed, unveiling 3,000 re-branded domestic supermarkets. The company's HL, miniMal, Stüssgen, Otto, Mess and Petz stores have all been re-branded under a single Rewe banner.
