The UK's Competition Commission has issued a progress report on its ongoing investigation into the country's GBP1.24bn (US$2.46bn) mass grocery retail (MGR) sector. As BMI has been reporting, the Commission has been focusing on the dominant position of certain retailers and other chains within the industry, and has been examining competition at the local level, which matters most to consumers, and where many of the potential concerns have been most evident.
