In line with the Latin America-wide trend among mass grocery retailers (MGRs) of marketing and catering to low-income groups, the Venezuelan subsidiary of Dutch retailer SHV Makro has launched a new discount format under the name of Mikro. The first store opened on January 15 in Ocumare del Tuy, south of Caracas, with a sales area of 1,500m2. At least four more stores are scheduled for this year, with up to 100 planned in the medium
