Swiss retailer Migros is finally moving ahead with its expansion plans for the German market. Although Migros has beenoperating in Germany since 1995, it has maintained a modest presence, with only three outlets opened to date, and has made little progress in its business operations. Now the company has announced that it plans to open 10 outlets by 2010 or 2012 in southern Germany. As Switzerland achieves closer integration with the EU and trade barriers are lowered, this has improved export opportunities for the company.
