Premier Foods, owner of some of the UK's best known food brands, has put its French bakery business Sofrapain up for sale according to press reports. The move comes just weeks after the firm revealed it was looking to sell two of its private label subsidiaries in the UK, and these developments fit with the firms stated objective of reducing its dependence on private label products.
