In its interim trading statement, Ireland-based food group Greencore has reported a notable deterioration in consumer sentiment in the UK since June. Despite this the firm, which derives most of its sales in the UK and Ireland, reported that sales at its core convenience food business rose by 7.2% on a constant currency basis in the four months to July 31.
