Having identified Russia as one of the world's premier high growth markets, US-based wine giant E&J Gallo has put forward plans to enter Central and Eastern Europe's (CEE's) largest economy later in 2009. Gallo will use its distribution tie-up with Poland-based Central European Distribution Corporation (CEDC) through the company's Russia-based subsidiary Parliament. While Russia's beer industry has consolidated apace over the past five years, its wine industry remains an attraction, and in BMI's opinion, is among the world's most exciting with considerable upside potential.
