The Jamaican government has been forced to adopt a new strategy to sell off the loss-making Sugar Company of Jamaica (SCJ) after an offer from Brazil-based Infinity Bio-Energy fell through and no other bidders emerged for the operation as a single unit. The government has now invited parties to bid on varied combinations of factories and estates, and has revealed that it has received expressions of interest from 14 companies.
