Droga Kolinska Records Third Quarter Loss

Leading Slovenian food and drink company Droga Kolinska has recorded a year-on-year (y-o-y) third quarter loss of EUR3.3mn that has been put down largely to a one-time asset write-off. Operating profit (earnings before interest and taxation) of EUR15mn for the first nine months of 2009, which was a similar return on a year earlier. Spread out across a number of segments, and hot drinks especially, Droga is Slovenia's largest food and drink firm in terms of annual turnover (US$378mn in FY08). Taking into account Droga's domestic leadership across a number of segments and forecast headline food consumption growth of 7.2%
