Netherlands-based bakery supplier CSM has announced the acquisition of North American-based Best Brands for US$510mn. CSM claims the acquisition will make it the 'undisputed leader' in the North American bakery supplies business and means that it will generate revenues of US$2.3bn in the market. CSM was attracted to the business because of Best Brands' leading position in value-added frozen products sold to in-store bakeries - a sector which has demonstrated dynamic growth in recent
