BMI View: The Czech Republic offers a wealthy, sizeable and increasingly urbanised population by Central and Eastern European (CEE) standards. While the Czech population is ageing, lo wer emigration rates than its region al peers will mean that the overall populatio n decline will be slower and less of a concern compared to markets such as Hungary and Bulgaria. Nevertheless w e expect to see a steady shift in consumer purchasing preferences over the longer t erm as incomes rise and the consumer base ages , with considerable opportunities for companies associated with premium health and convenience products.
